The Belgian striker does not want to leave the Serie A giants despite the club’s efforts to offload him in favour of the Italian forward
Divock Origi is reportedly not interested in leaving AC Milan even as the Serie A giants try to force him out, following a less than impressive campaign in 2022-23.
The Belgium striker battled for consistency last season, his first at Milan after his summer arrival from Liverpool last year, managing just two goals from 36 games in all competitions, although most of them were substitute appearances.
Italian outlet Calciomercato says offers from Saudi Arabia and Turkey have arrived but Origi has told his agents he's not interested in any offers as he wants to prove himself at Milan with the centre-forward still with three years left on his Rossoneri deal.
This comes amid reports that Premier League side West Ham have rejected an offer to sign Origi in exchange for Italian striker Gianluca Scamacca who Milan are heavily interested in.
Calciomercato further says the Hammers have opted against the swap as they do not want to sign the Champions League-winning Belgium international.
They’re also not keen on letting Scamacca leave on loan after signing him for big money last summer.
Origi is no longer the player who won the Champions League with Liverpool and it does not make sense to West Ham to sign him.
He might be Premier League proven, but he’s on the decline and he isn’t someone David Moyes reportedly wants to work with.
Michail Antonio has led the line for the East London side but his goals have dried down as well and that’s perhaps why they signed Scamacca.
The Italian struggled in the Premier League last season, finding life difficult in England after joining from Serie A side Sassuolo.
