GK -Job Ochieng

Job Ochieng is our goalkeeper of the season following a run of consistent displays in goal for Kenya Police, especially since the arrival of Etienne Ndayiragije last November.

Ochieng started the season as second choice goalkeeper to Patrick Matasi, but following a string of inconsistent performances in goal for the Law Enforcers, in which he was also accused of deliberately sabotaging a couple of matches.

Matasi was eventually suspended by FKF after a video of him appearing to conspire to fix a match with some other unidentified individuals circulated on social media.

Ochieng has registered 13 cleansheets, which puts him top of the shutout record across the division, and his understanding with Brian Okoth and David ‘Cheche’ Ochieng has also helped a huge deal.

RB -Baraka Badi

The second Kenya Police player on the list, Baraka Badi has played an integral role in their attack, making overlapping runs from out wide and  delivering dangerous crosses the likes of David Simiyu, Jesse Were and Clinton Kinanga have been getting on the end of.

He has also been supporting David Okoth, who has also been influential in an inside forward role cutting inside on his left foot and then shooting at goal.

Badi will be hoping his performances can win over the trust of Benni McCarthy amid stiff competition from teammate Daniel Sakari and Lewis Bandi of AFC Leopards, who also did well this season.

CB -Brian Eshihanda

The Kakamega Homeboyz stopper has been integral in helping Abana Beingo soar their way up the league standings since the appointment of Francis Baraza last November.

Imperious in the air, tenacious on the tackle and a vocal communicator at the back, Eshihanda’s form even earned him a call up to the national team last November. He has without doubt, earned a place in the side.

CB -Brian Okoth

Our pick for left center back, Brian Okoth has been key in helping Police have the meanest defence in the league, and has also given them balance with his left foot playing out from the back.

He has formed a formidable partnership with David ‘Cheche’ Ochieng, and has also earned the respect of his teammates given his ability to organise the defence.

LB - George Kaddu

The Ugandan defender has been a breath of fresh air at Tusker since signing off season. His set piece deliveries have given the Brewers something different, as well as his versatility in the sense that he is capable of playing even further forward on occasions, which would allow Dennis Wanjala to get into the side from time to time.

In a season that saw Tusker capitulate in their race for the FKF Premier League title due to injuries to key players such as Ryan Ogam, Kaddu has remained reliable, and earns a spot in our team of the season.

CM- Marvine Nabwire

Marvine Nabwire has perhaps been the best midfielder in the league this season. His versatility and nonchalance on the ball was key to giving Police several advantages during their build up play.

Alongside Brian Musa, another midfielder that also earned a spot in the FKF team of the season, he has been dropping deep to receive the ball, drawing markers out and then creating room for the more advanced players to get into dangerous positions.

He has also played in the number 10 role on occasions and impressed. It will be surprising if he gets left out of the 2024 CHAN squad by Benni McCarthy come August.

The former Posta Rangers man has risen to prominence for both club and country this season with his ability to dictate the tempo of matches as well as set up line breaking passes.

He is perhaps one of the most accurate passes of the football in the Premier League, and there is a reason Benni McCarthy leaned on him during Harambee Stars’ recent friendly matches against Chad in Morocco.

Arguably the best player in the FKF Premier League this season, Brian Michira has been a force to be reckoned with from the flanks for Shabana this season.

He scored 12 goals and also registered numerous assists, with most of the team’s attack going through his flank - and he also formed a deadly dynamic with Darius Msagha.

It is expected his form will attract the attention of even bigger clubs at the end of the season.

LW -Mohammed Bajaber

Mohammed Bajaber has become a superstar in the league this season especially since moving to Kenya Police from City Stars midway through the season.

After netting a fantastic goal against Gambia for Harambee Stars last March, many fans have been excited about him, and it has now become a constant theme seeing them flock him for selfies after every Police match.

His ability to dribble and inject fear into the opposition defenders while creating something from nothing has helped Police see through tight games on several occasions and win important points that eventually helped them win the league for the first time in their history.

Our first of two strikers on the team, Moses Shummah has finally lived up to his vast potential this season.

After being named the FKF Cup Most Valuable Player in 2023, he struggled to build on from that in 2024 after failed moves abroad unsettled him, as well as a fall out with former Kakamega Homeboyz coach Patrick Odhiambo.

However, he has taken his game to another level under Francis Baraza, who has developed him into a complete striker. He has now won the golden boot with 17 goals, and his hold up play and willingness to bring others into the game has helped Kakamega Homeboyz become more efficient in attack.

ST -Emmanuel Osoro

Although FC Talanta have been relegated back to the National Super League, Emmanuel Osoro has been a standout player in their attack this season.

The forward has scored 16 goals, and shown his versatility as well given the ability to play off the left. His instinctive ability to play on the shoulder of the last defender has been a thorn many opponents have had to endure, and we do not expect him to stay on at Talanta for much longer.
