Bandari have been dealt an injury blow as a goalscoring off-season midfield signing is set to undergo knee surgery.

Just two days after announcing that Sharif Majabe will be facing a spell on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury, Bandari have been dealt yet another blow as Hassan Nyamawi Beja is also set to undergo a knee surgery.

Beja, who signed from National Super League (NSL) side SS Assad after a brilliant goal-scoring season that left fans dubbing him the new Frank Lampard, had started to become an influential figure for the Dockers, before suffering the untimely injury.

“Attacking midfielder Beja Nyamawi will undergo knee surgery at 2:00 PM tomorrow afternoon (Friday) at the Aga Khan Hospital in Mombasa,” a statement posted on the club’s social media pages read.

“We wish you a quick recovery, last born. Lampard Mohammed,” it continued.

Bandari have had several key players on the treatment table. Recently, leftback Siraj Mohammed was also discharged from hospital in crutches after also having suffered an injury.

Head coach John Baraza had been hoping to have some of his key players available after affirming themselves in the title race following a run of two consecutive wins but will need to find different solutions to keep the momentum going.

The Dockers' next challenge awaits as they prepare to face FC Talanta in an FKFPL game scheduled for Saturday at Mbaraki.
