Kevin Wangaya was inarguably the Rising Stars' best player in the three Group B matches against Morocco, Tunisia and Nigeria.

Kevin Wangaya was named man-of-the-match in Rising Stars’ encounter against Tunisia, where he scored the opening goal within the first five minutes after kick-off.

During an interview on NTV’s Sport On, Kevin Wangaya revealed that his dream remains playing for European clubs.

Wangaya added that he is trusting God to open doors for him, and he is hopeful that he is on the right track as far as attracting European clubs is concerned.

“It’s something that I don’t want to talk about, but it’s a good question. Things are coming up. With God, things are coming,” he revealed.

Despite exiting the continental showpiece in the group stages, Kevin Wangaya noted that it was a learning process.

Kevin Wangaya praised the players for showing up in the best way they knew and scoring goals against sides that seemed unbeatable.

Wangaya added that he loved the fact that they were treated as an underdog and having managed to play the way they did is a good sign ahead of future assignments.

“Yeah, of course I want to go to Europe because the performance was also good…we performed well as a team, but we didn’t get what we wanted,” Kevin Wangaya revealed.

“I think the tournament has given us more exposure, and people also get to see us despite exiting from the group stages, at least we were able to show something.

“We shocked everyone because I’m sure other teams viewed us as an underdog and thought they would just beat us, but we gave them a hard time.”

As he looks forward to land deals with European clubs, Kevin Wangaya will continue showing up for Rising Stars and hopefully, in the near future, play for Harambee Stars.
