Bandari's Sharif Majabe has undergone surgery and is set to miss his second match as the Dockers face FC Talanta at Mbaraki this weekend.

Bandari FC midfielder Sharif Majabe is facing a spell on the sidelines after undergoing knee surgery following an injury sustained during their recent Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) match against Shabana.

The former Mombasa Elite captain, known for his versatility in playing as a center-back and central defensive midfielder, is now on the path to recovery after a successful operation.

The surgery took place on Wednesday at a hospital in Mombasa, and Majabe is expected to be discharged on Thursday, where he will commence wound treatment.

While the club's official statement did not specify the exact duration of his rehabilitation, there are reports suggesting that he could be back in action as early as January.

"Our midfielder, Sharif Majabe, has undergone knee surgery at the Aga Khan Hospital after sustaining an injury in our match against Shabana.

"According to the information provided by our doctor, Ali Nizar, Sharif underwent a successful operation and will be discharged from the hospital tomorrow, where he will begin wound treatment," read the official statement released by the club.

The incident leading to the surgery occurred during the match played on November 5 at Mbaraki Stadium in Mombasa, where Bandari emerged victorious with a 2-1 scoreline.

Majabe had joined Bandari at the beginning of the 2023/2024 season on a one-year deal, with high hopes and expectations for his contributions to the Dockers' success.

The player once tried his hand at professional football with Belgian giants KAA Gent but was unable to secure a spot during the trials.

As Majabe embarks on his road to recovery, Bandari will have to adapt to his absence in the midfield.

The Dockers next challenge awaits as they prepare to face FC Talanta in the FKFPL game scheduled for Saturday at Mbaraki.
