The defender is one of the players expected to sign for the Gunners in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal and Jurrien Timber have reached a verbal agreement over a €47 million deal to complete a Premier League move, according to reports.

The Dutch defender has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, and the latest reports indicate the two parties have agreed on some aspects of the possible deal.

The Gunners have already confirmed the signing of Kai Havertz from Chelsea and are close to completing Declan Rice's move.

Given that they will be in Champions League football next season, Mikel Arteta would want a squad with balance and depth, and this has informed their decision to approach Timber, who is believed to be a capable defensive option.

The 22-year-old is a versatile defender who can operate as a central defender and a full-back. The final hurdle that remains is for the two clubs to finalize paperwork before the deal is considered done.

A move to Arsenal is seen as a positive development for Timber, as he will get to test himself in a new environment. Given that Arteta has nurtured a number of players, Timber could get the necessary help to develop himself.

Should he finally join the North London club, the next challenge for Timber will be to try and make an immediate impact at the Emirates.
