David Ankeye joins Super Eagles superstars Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman and Samuel Chukwueze in the Serie A after his Genoa move.

New Genoa signing David Ankeye has spoken of his delight at sealing a transfer to the Serie A side, with the Nigerian calling it a ‘dream come true’.

Pulse Sports reported that the talented but unknown forward became the latest Nigerian to join the Italian top flight after he was unveiled by the club.

The 21-year-old put pen to paper on a four-year contract that will see him feature for Genoa until the summer of 2028. 

Genoa paid three million euros to prise the highly-rated striker from Moldovan giants Sheriff Tiraspol.

The Nigerian forward took to the social media platform, X, to express his excitement about making the switch, referencing his tough upbringing in the streets of Port Harcourt.

Ankeye revealed that it had always been his ambition growing up to play in one of Europe’s top leagues.

“Growing up in the Streets of Port Harcourt, it’s every kid's dream to play in the big leagues,” the striker posted on his official account.

“Really happy and proud to have signed For This Great club. It’s a Dream Come True For Me And I Can’t Wait to Get Started. Come on Genoa,” he added.

David scored five goals in 10 matches in the Moldovan league.

Born in Port Harcourt, the striker has been in good form for his former club, making 10 appearances and 3 goals in the Europa League and 2 appearances in the Champions League qualifiers.

David also scored five goals in 10 matches in the Moldovan league and would look to transfer that form to one of the top five leagues in the world.
