FKFPL Aloro fries Bidco United to keep Bandari's in touch with leading pack

Festus Chuma 17:00 - 16.04.2023

Rodgers Aloro's goal in the dying minutes were sufficient for the coastal outfit.

Visiting Bandari football club reaped maximum points by scoring the minimum required to edged Bidco 1-0 in Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) match at the Kasarani Annex Stadium on Sunday.

As a result, the Dockers moved up to seventh place on the league standings, while Bidco moved down to 14th spot on the table.

Antony Akhulia decided to drop Brian Nyakan, who was replaced by Eric Gichimu upfront, while Zacharia Gathu and Thomas Wainaina both started after shrugging off their respective injuries.

Umaru Kasumba started upfront for Bandari  as a lone striker, while Dennis Magige and Doglas Mokaya  were deployed in central midfield by Antony Kimani as the Dockers looked to get back into winning ways after their latest defeat at the hands of Gor Mahia.

Bandari started brightly with Umaru Kasumba testing Daniel Adiwour in the 20th-minute and the Bidco keeper made a superb save to keep his side in the game.

Soon after the half-hour mark, Bidco nearly conceded following a miscommunication between David Kalama and Lambert Otieno but Hassan Abdallah hit the wrong side of the net.

Abdallah was all over the place giving the Oilers a torrid time and he combined with Dennis Magige and James Kinyajui  but Adiwour went down to make a good save.

Bidco took the game to the Dockers toward the end of the first-half but Zacharia Gathu headed wide much to the relief of the Bandari technical team.

Akhulia and Kimani  gave what was a tough half-time talk during the break because both teams came back guns blazing after the restart.

Gabriel Wandera  came close to breaking the deadlock inside the opening 10 minutes of the second-half as his attempted shot rattled the post with Joseph Ochuka beaten hands down.

That didn't stop Kimani's men as Umaru Kasumba fired at Adiwour in the 62nd-minute but the Bidco goalkeeper made a superb save.

Adiwour was again in the thick of things as he made a point-blank range save in the 70th-minute as the Dockers threw everything at Bidco.

It should have been 1-0 to Bidco after Ochuka  had denied Okare and Alex Juma pounced onto the rebound, but somehow the defender missed the target from close range.

The visitors started getting much of the ball and in the 76th minute Ugandan international Rodgers Aloro fired a low cross that slipped between the hands of Bidco goalkeeper for 1-0.

Bidco looked dangerous on the counter-attack and Peter Nzuki nearly equalized for the Oilers  in the closing stages of the game. The striker's effort was well saved by Ochuka.

Bandari then stood firm at the back and they emerged 1-0 winners over Bidco in an entertaining round of twenty-five clash.
