The National Super League (NSL) clash between Kibera Black Stars FC and APS Bomet FC ended in dramatic and controversial fashion after being abandoned in the 79th minute on June 1 at the Jamhuri Sports Ground, Nairobi.
The chaos followed a disputed goal that sparked outrage and ultimately led to the Football Kenya Federation's (FKF) Leagues & Competitions Committee stepping in to determine the official outcome.

According to the committee's findings following their June 13, 2025 meeting at the FKF Goal Project in Kasarani, the game was halted after APS Bomet FC scored a contentious goal.
The decision to allow the goal infuriated Kibera Black Stars fans and officials, who reacted violently by accosting and physically attacking Assistant Referee Eunice Njeri.
The situation spiraled out of control for over 30 minutes, during which no police presence was observed at the venue.
This absence of security, attributed to the host club’s inadequate planning, left the match officials vulnerable. With Assistant Referee Njeri unable to continue and the safety of match officials compromised, the game was officially abandoned.
