The Morans qualified for the quarter-final after finishing top in Group A ahead of Cote d’Ivoire and Gabon who are currently placed second and third respectively.

The Kenya national basketball team, the Morans, will face off against Morocco in the quarter-finals of the ongoing FIBA AfroCan on Thursday, July 13th in Luanda, Angola

The Morans qualified for the quarter-final after finishing top in Group A ahead of Cote d’Ivoire and Gabon who are currently placed second and third respectively.

They opened their campaign on a high with a 62-52 win over Ivory Coast on Saturday, July 8 but succumbed to Gabon with a 66-63 loss on Monday, July 10.

They now head to the quarterfinal against Morocco where they will need to win in order to proceed to the semi-final scheduled for Friday, July 14 at 6:00 p.m. EAT.

Morocco, however, is not an easy team to beat despite sitting second behind Tunisia in Group C. They qualified for the quarterfinal courtesy of a 78-50 win over Cameroon.

Cameroon beat Morocco twice during the 2019 FIBA Basketball African Qualifiers, which included a 63-57 win in December 2018 in Luanda but the Moroccans turned the tables this time around.

In the other quarterfinal, DRC Congo are set to face off against either Nigeria or Gabon, depending on the team that will win in their match scheduled for later today. Angola and Tunisia are also yet to know their opponents as they head to the quarterfinal.
