At BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda, Al Ahli Tripoli (Libya) defeated Nairobi City Thunder (Kenya) 104-91 yesterday night, with five players scoring in double figures. This victory secured them their fourth consecutive victory in the Nile Conference and guaranteed a spot in the 2025 Basketball Africa League (BAL) Playoffs.

When the BAL Playoffs begin on June 6 at SunBet Arena in Pretoria, South Africa, Al Ahli will be joined by Al Ittihad (Egypt), Rivers Hoopers (Nigeria), 2022 BAL champion US Monastir (Tunisia), the reigning champion Petro de Luanda (Angola), and Kriol Star (Cape Verde).

Mohamed Abdourahman (Libya) contributed 23 points and 13 rebounds, while Jean Jacques Boissy (Senegal), a former student-athlete from NBA Academy Africa, topped Al Ahli with 26 points.

With 23 points, Uchenna Iroegbu (U.S./Nigeria) led Thunder, while Eugene Adera (Kenya) contributed nine points, twelve rebounds, and four assists.

Made By Basketball (South Africa) won their second game in a row in the competition Friday night, defeating the local team APR (Rwanda) 94-88.

Pieter Prinsloo of South Africa contributed 13 points and seven rebounds, Teafale Lenard Jr. of the United States scored 19 points, seven rebounds, and four assists, and Jovan Mooring of the United States finished with 29 points, eight rebounds, and five assists.

David Craig, a South African center for Tennessee Tech, played more than twenty-four minutes and finished with nine points, ten rebounds, and two blocks for the South African side, which had a fifty-one percent shooting percentage.

Youssoupha Ndoye of Senegal contributed 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Obadiah Noel of the United States led APR with 23 points.

However, APR's offensive performance deteriorated in the closing minutes, shooting just 37% from the field. APR will try to recover this weekend after suffering two straight defeats, but they managed to hold onto second place in the Nile Conference.
