His frustration comes shortly after the national team succumbed to a 46-55 loss to Morocco at the ongoing FIBA AfroCan in Luanda, Angola.

Often when national sides do well in international assignments, they are showered with glowing praise but when things go south, teams are always neglected but things went a notch higher with Kenya Morans forward Ariel Okall going on an epic rant after their FIBA AfroCan quarters elimination.

A recent example of such an occurrence was when double world record holder Faith Kipyegon was hosted in State House by President William Ruto for the record-breaking exploits that saw her set new world records in the 1500m and 5000m in a span of one week.

She was also joined by other athletes including Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala and Kisii Express Mary Moraa. Kipyeon was promised an award of Ksh 5 million and a house, while Omanyala was promised Ksh 2 million.

However, this is not the case when a sportsperson goes for an international assignment and fails to live up to expectations. Okall has been the victim of such occurrences and has taken to Twitter to lament the hardships that come with playing for the national team, in this case, the Morans.

“Playing for the National Team is one tough thing, you win games they don’t appreciate you enough, you lose games they insult the hell out of you. They forget you gave them everything you got for the bare minimum and sometimes even for nothing Tired of that isht (sh*t),” Okall tweeted.

His frustration comes shortly after the national team succumbed to a 46-55 loss to Morocco at the ongoing FIBA AfroCan in Luanda, Angola. Team Kenya had put up a good fight in the highly-contested match but they failed to deliver.

Kenya opened their campaign with a 62-52 win over Ivory Coast before falling 63-66 to Gabon. They had gone to Angola with the hope of improving on their 2019 performance where they won silver but things went south for them.
