In an interview with the Independent, Mo Farah explained that the RunGP will include everyone, from elite runners to the amateurs and will also cover a broader distance to the marathon, something that Michael Johnson’s Grand Slam Track will not do.
Michael Johnson founded the league basically for elite athletes and will cover a range of distances but nothing further than the 5000m. The RunGP will bring together people from all walks of life to run around F1 tracks.
The inaugural edition of the RunGP will happen at the Lusail International Circuit, Doha, from May 9 to 10. The venue is where the Qatar Grand Prix is usually held.

Five of the greatest Harambee Stars players of all time.
“When I watch athletics, to me, it's not as exciting as it once was. Michael Johnson is a friend of mine. He's doing an amazing thing to create more in athletics. We've got to get athletics back on the map,” Farah said.
“But if you look at that, that's purely done from sprint to 5K. We're talking about the distance here. We're going to go full out, we’ll do the marathon, half marathon, and beyond. But really this event is for the masses, not just the elite level, for everyone and everyone. From kids to all the way through.”
He added that his decision to retire came since he had achieved so much and thought there was nothing left for him.
