Richardson’s reunion with Champion comes at a pivotal time in her athletic career.

After closing out her 2024 season with a sixth-place finish at the Brussels Diamond League, where she clocked 11.23 seconds in the 100m, the sprinter returned to the track for the 2025 season.

Competing at the Seiko Golden Grand Prix, she placed fourth in her marquee event with a time of 11.47 seconds.

Despite not hitting the podium, Richardson remains undeterred and focused on progress. The Paris Olympics star has her eyes on growth, resilience, and impact.

In a major development, Richardson has signed on to compete in Athlos, a women-only track and field meet founded by Alexis Ohanian, entrepreneur and husband of tennis icon Serena Williams.

“This 2025 season, I am excited to continue to push the limits on what it is that I can do,” Richardson stated following the announcement.

“Being in the forefront of a monumental step in changing the sport I feel like, it's a responsibility that I take very seriously. I am honored to continue to be a part of something that the next generation will continue to know, and carry the torch and know that nothing could stop them. It's just the beginning.”

Joining fellow Olympic medalists Tara Davis-Woodhall and Gabby Thomas, Richardson is expected to be one of the main draws at the Athlos meet in 2026.

Richardson’s influence extends far beyond athletics. Since her gold and silver medal wins in the 4x100m relay and 100m, respectively, at the Paris Olympics, she has become a household name.
