Olympic 200m silver medalist Kenny Bednarek is gearing up for the World Athletics relays in the Bahamas with a confident outlook, setting his sights on dominating the competition.

Following his recent victory in the 100m race at the Kip Keino Classic held at the Nyayo National Stadium on April 20, Bednarek is channeling his focus into refining his performance in both the 100m and 200m categories.

In a recent episode released on his YouTube channel, Bednarek, who has overcome nagging injuries that plagued him in previous years, expressed his readiness and determination for the upcoming relays.

"I am ready to go, I am ready to win," declared Bednarek, emphasizing his confidence in his abilities.

Acknowledging his strengths, Bednarek highlighted his top-end speed and superior strength compared to his competitors, indicating that his success hinges on flawless execution.

"If I execute the race(s) perfectly then I win. The only person is going to stop me is me," asserted Bednarek, showcasing his self-assured mindset.

Despite his past struggles with injuries, Bednarek revealed significant improvements in his performance, particularly in his block starts.

"My block starts are a lot better this year. They still need some improvement but over the past four years and now that I am perfectly healthy, I have actually seen big improvements from year one to now," explained Bednarek, highlighting his dedication to continuous improvement.

Bednarek has also already taken part in the Tom Jones memorial 100m race, where he  tied for first place with Noah Lyles.

Bednarek also won silver at the World Athletics Championships held at Oregon in 2022 at the 200m category.
