Nelly Chepchirchir reigned supreme in the women’s 1,500m at the Doha Diamond League after getting the better of fellow Kenyan Susan Ejore.
Kenya’s Nelly Chepchirchir held off a strong challenge from compatriot Susan Ejore to win the 1,500m race at the Doha Diamond League on Friday.
Chepchirchir, who has been in great form, lived up to the billing in the Qatari capital, staying among the leading pack before storming off in the final lap.
The Kenyan clocked 4:05.00 to win the race as Ejore came home in second place in 4:06.27 while Britain’s Jemma Reekie was third in 4:07.33.

It is the fourth time Chepchirchir has won a race this season and gives her hope of enjoying a great campaign that will culminate in the World Championships.
