Multiple world champion Noah Lyles has given reasons why the US Track and Fields needs to pull up its their socks ahead of the upcoming Olympics trials.
Six-time world champion Noah Lyles has hit out at the US Track and Field for not promoting the US Olympics trials scheduled between June 21 and 30 in Eugene, Oregon.
Excitement is building towards the trials which will see Team USA selected for the Paris 2024 Olympics with Lyles among the big names seen as favourites to bag gold in the French capital.
However, Lyles feels the event is not being marketed enough despite its prominence and significance which might lead to little attendance.

Triple World champion Noah Lyles believes Botswanan track star Letsile Tebogo still has some work to do if he has to be a force to reckon with in the 100m.
“I haven’t see[n] one commercial for the T&F [track and field] Olympic trials. Is that just me?” Lyles posed on X (formerly Twitter).
His post sparked various reactions from fans, some agreeing with him, while others feel he should be on the forefront of promoting the event.
“You won't per se until a week or two before the actual trials if history is any indication. I'm assuming NBC is broadcasting them. And I don't think that I've ever seen them mention trials until right before the trials,” replied one fan.
Another one agreed with him: “You aren’t the only one bro. This is the latest Olympic cycle where there isn’t a separate commercial for the Olympic Trials. Just solely on the Olympics. Another missed opportunity.”
“No and it’s ridiculous! That said, we just got our tickets today and we can’t wait! There’s no place better to watch world class athletes than Hayward Field.”
Some feel US Track and Field, as well as American athletes, need to pull up their socks to make athletics attractive in the country.

Letsile Tebogo reveals modest Paris Olympics targets despite running fastest 200m time of the year
Botswana sprint sensation Letsile Tebogo is not setting highly ambitious targets for the Paris Olympics even after clocking yet another world lead in 2024 at the ASA Grand Prix.
“Well, track is literally impossible to watch and none of the athletes, including you [Lyles], do a very good job of posting upcoming and/or how to watch prior to the day of or hour before,” commented a fan.
“Because nobody in the States watches the Olympic Games. The schedules of disciplines are hard to find, the athletes don’t post to have media prevalence for us to gain rapport with etc.”
Set to take place at Hayward Field, US Olympics trials is one of the most competitive events given top athletes turn up in a bid to secure the coveted Olympic slots.
