Botswana sprint sensation Letsile Tebogo is not setting highly ambitious targets for the Paris Olympics even after clocking yet another world lead in 2024 at the ASA Grand Prix.
Botswana sprint sensation Letsile Tebogo has no desire to go for the world record or even aim for gold as he would be happy with any medal at the Paris Olympics.
The 20-year-old continued his great form when he run a world lead 19.94 in at the ASA Grand Prix in Johannesburg on Wednesday, becoming the first man to dip under 20 seconds in 200m this year.
It comes after he clocked a personal best 44.29 in Pretoria over a week ago and also broke the 300m world record in February when he timed 30.69 at the Simbine Curro Classic.

American sprint legend Michael Johnson has told Botswana sensation Letsile Tebogo what to do at the Olympics after he hit the 400m qualifying time for the Paris Games.
However, Tebogo is not putting himself under pressure heading to the Olympics and does not also intend to feature in the 400m any time soon.
“For now, I am just going to focus on 100m and 200m and then later is when I will try and convert to the 400m,” said Tebogo.
“The plan is not to get the body fatigued and just keep rolling for the Olympics because everybody wants the world record and the gold medal but we just leave those two to them and we see what we can get at the Olympics,” he added.
“I am not part of the team that is chasing the world record. For now, is just keep on rolling.”
It was yet another good outing for the world 100m silver and 200m bronze medallist who looks to be emerging as a major force despite his humility. He finished ahead of homeboy Akani Simbine, who clocked 20.32 and Eckhart Potgieter (20.61).
Tebogo now has a world lead in 200m, 300m and 400m and many will be waiting to see if he can complete the set by having the fastest time in 100m this year.

Botswana sprint sensation Letsile Tebogo has disclosed how he plans to stay in top shape to ensure he beats his 100m and 200m rivals to claim gold at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Next up for him is his home Grand Prix in Botswana on April 14 before the Diamond League season begins in Xiamen, China six days later.
