Mary Moraa has uncovered the truth behind her struggles earlier this season but pointed out that she has bounced back and is focused on title defense.

Reigning world champion Mary Moraa has addressed her struggles at the start of the season, assuring fans that she is in good condition at the moment.

The Olympic bronze medallist has struggled to make an impact so far this season, posting mixed results in her speciality, the 800m.

Mary Moraa opened her season with an eighth-place finish in the women’s 800m at the Grand Slam Track Kingston and then withdrew from the 1500m due to personal reasons.

Mary Moraa would then compete at the Grand Slam Track Miami, where she won the 800m and finished eighth in the 1500m. She was also in action in the women’s 800m at the Grand Slam Track Philadelphia where she finished fifth in the 800m.

Mary Moraa also competed at the Diamond League Meeting in Stockholm, where she finished second in the 800m before ninth at the Prefontaine Classic.

Mary Moraa Breaks Silence on What Has Been Slowing Her Down

After competing in the women’s 4x400m relay at the Athletics Kenya trials for the World Championships at the Ulinzi Sports Complex, Mary Moraa revealed that she had some issues to deal with at the start of the season.

She expressed excitement to have finally found her feet and assured her fans that all is well at the moment and her focus remains on defending her title at the World Championships in Tokyo, Japan.

“I’m really happy with my performance in this event, and I want to thank Athletics Kenya for arranging such an event. So far, so good. We have competed in the 4x400m relay, and we are just waiting for confirmation from World Athletics,” Mary Moraa said.

“Since I started my season, I started at a slow pace, and my body was not feeling well, but now I’m recovering from what I’ve been going through.

“Right now, I’m okay, and on Saturday, I ran a 400m and I see that my body is coming and I’m doing well, so let’s wait for the World Championships.”

Mary Moraa claimed the win in the women’s 400m at the Night of Athletics in Belgium, with the win being a motivation booster. She now places her early-season setbacks behind her, looking forward to continuing to make her fans proud.
