The three-time Olympic champion pointed out that since her son started playing football and chess, she has struggled to balance her training and attending her son’s events.
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce disclosed that she has to leave training and take her son to football practice, and sometimes chess. Over the weekends, she has to attend her son’s tournaments and be as present as possible.
“Now that my son is older and is playing football, not that I like that, I wish he was running track but we’ll take football. He is seven and is going to be turning eight, and right now, my house is pretty hectic,” Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce revealed in a press conference ahead of the Doha Diamond League.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce revealed that she has missed important moments of her son’s life, but she has learnt how to handle such moments.
During Mother’s Day, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce was competing at the World Athletics Relays, where Jamaica finished third in the women’s 4x100m relay.
“But I’m grateful for the support I have from my husband and my team, who have helped me balance it; some days are good, some are not. Some days I’ve missed practice, and I also missed Mother’s Day because I was running in China,” Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce said.
“I also travelled on the day he won his tournament. It is such a struggle, but I’m grateful for the moments I’ve shared with him.”
Despite the growing challenges of balancing competition and an increasingly active son, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce continues to navigate motherhood with resilience and the unwavering support of her family.
