Jamaican sprint queen Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce will make her Diamond League comeback after a three-year hiatus.

Fraser-Pryce, who last competed at the Diamond League in 2022, will return to action at the third leg of the season in Doha on May 16, adding stardust to the event.

The five-time world champion announced in January that this will be her final season in track and field and she is keen to make the best of it.

“Doha holds a special place in my heart, and I’m truly excited to return for this year’s Diamond League,” Fraser-Pryce, who clocked 10.94s (+3.1m/s) in her 2025 season-opener in Kingston in April told the Diamond League website.

“From the start of my career I’ve understood the power of the platform that track and field provides. I’ve been blessed to compete at the highest level for many years, and with that comes a responsibility to lead, inspire, and uplift the next generation, especially young girls who dream of becoming athletes, mothers, and business leaders. That legacy continues to drive me.

“My focus remains sharp, and I approach this season with the same levels of discipline, passion, and determination that have defined my career. Every race is an opportunity, and I’m committed to making each one count.”

Fraser-Pryce, the third fastest woman in history with a personal best of 10.60 seconds recorded at the 2021 Lausanne Diamond League, last ran in Doha the same year, when she won the 100m in 10.84 seconds.

The two-time Olympics 100m champion will be part of team Jamaica at the World Athletics Relays in Guangzhou, China from May 10-11 before flying to Doha for her first Diamond League race.
