Ivorian sprint sensation Arthur Cisse has joined Africa's fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala's training group led by coach Geoffrey Kimani.

Ivorian sprint star Arthur Cisse has joined Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala’s training group as he looks to sharpen his talons ahead of the Olympic Games in Paris, France.

Omanyala’s coach, Geoffrey Kimani was elated to announce the news on his X (Twitter) handle, welcoming Cisse to the training group that also includes Omanyala’s younger brother Isaac Omurwa, and his fiancée Laventa Amutavi.

Kimani also noted that Cisse is a great addition to the group thanks to his charisma and he will certainly form a great partnership with the Commonwealth Games champion.

In the post, Kimani said: “Pursuit for excellence. A warm welcome to Ivorian sprinter @ArthurGueCISSE to our training group and program leading up to the Olympics.

“Arthur holds the Ivorian sprints records 60m to 200m, fantastic addition to our team, great personality, good partnership for @ferdiomanyala.”

Omanyala and Cisse have mostly locked horns in the indoor races and even at the start of the 2024 season, they have competed against each other in several races.

They were up against each other at the Elite Indoor Track Miramas Meeting where Omanyala won the race with the African Games silver medallist having to settle for third place.

The duo also competed against each other at the 2023 Elite Indoor Track Miramas Meeting where the Ivorian beat Omanyala before tables turned during the Mondeville Meeting.

Africa’s fastest man also beat him at the Meeting in Paris and Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais last year. The Ivorian was also in action at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary but he was unfortunately knocked out in the heats while Omanyala made it to the final.
