The World Cross Country Championships will be held on Saturday, March 30 having attracted star-studded fields in the men’s and women’s races.
Defending champions Beatrice Chebet and Jacob Kiplimo headline the senior women’s and men’s fields and they will be looking to win back-to-back titles in the Serbian capital.
Chebet will be up against compatriots Agnes Jebet, the world 10km record holder, Emmaculate Anyango, the second fastest woman over the 10km, and Lilian Kasait among other athletes. They are bound to face a stern test from Ethiopians and Ugandans who are also aiming for the top prize.

The 17-year-old Form One student has drawn the attention of the Sports CS after not letting her basic attire and inability to buy shoes hinder her from running and winning her race.
The men’s race will see Sabastian Sawe try to dethrone the Ugandan duo of Kiplimo and silver medallist from last year Joshua Cheptegei. He will be joined by last year’s winner in the under-20 category Ishmael Kipkurui and Nicholas Kimeli.
