During his visit to Lausanne, he also interacted with retired sprint sensation Allyson Felix.

World 800m record holder David Rudisha was awarded the Olympic certificate of recognition during his visit to the Olympic House in Lausanne, Switzerland on Friday, May 26.

During his visit, Rudisha also signed the Olympians' wall which already bears hundreds of signatures of other Olympic stars. He also got a chance to interact with retired sprint sensation Allyson Felix who was also visiting the Olympic House.

He expressed excitement about being recognised by the International Olympic Committee and was glad that his legacy will forever live on.

“I’m really glad to be here and be part of this wonderful legacy. It is my first time here and I am honored,” he said.

Rudisha also took to his Twitter account to share how he felt. He said: “A very special moment of signing the Olympic Wall at the Olympic House in Lausanne Switzerland.”

Rudisha remains to be one of the greatest 800m runner of all time who won in all the two Olympic events he participated in.

He reigned supreme during the 2012 London Olympic Games before stamping authority during the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. He is also a two-time world champion in the 800m.

He currently serves as the president of the Confederation of African Athletics Athletes' Commission and is also mentoring young athletes.
