Amid reports of a return to Italy this summer, Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has opened up about his future at the Premier League club.

Hojlund has endured a frustrating two-year stay at Old Trafford, managing just four Premier League goals last season, and there have been reports that United are keen to offload him.

Inter are reported to be the club most interested in signing him in what would see him return to Italy after leaving Atalanta for £64 million, rising to £72 million with add-ons, two years ago.

However, the striker himself appears not to be looking elsewhere following his sentiments on Saturday that he is looking to return to United next season.

“I have a contract [until 2028], so I expect to play for Manchester United,” Hojlund said after Denmark’s 2-1 win over Northern Ireland on Saturday as quoted by Dailymail.

Hojlund Expects to Stay at Manchester United

Rasmus Hojlund scored only four goals in the Premier League last season for Man United.

“I'm looking forward to going on a summer vacation, and then I'm fully dedicated to the project that's underway. I know I can't get much out of reading things. I know what the facts are, and that is that I have a contract with Manchester United.

“I expect to play there, so I'm just getting ready for some summer vacation and then hopefully a good pre-season,” he further said.

United coach Ruben Amorim has not offered Hojlund any guarantees about staying on next season but the Red Devils are in the market for a striker with Sporting CP’s Swedish forward Viktor Gyokeres heavily linked to the club.

Gyokeres worked with Amorim at Sporting and the Portuguese coach is believed to be keen on reuniting with him at Old Trafford which would push Hojlund down the pecking order.
