Former Premier League star is linked with Manchester United and the Red Devils could use Rasmus Hojlund as part of the swap deal.

Manchester United are reportedly willing to offer Rasmus Hojlund in a sensational partial swap deal for Atalanta striker Ademola Lookman, in a bid to solve their striking woes.

Danish striker Hojlund has endured a miserable campaign at Old Trafford in his second season following a mammoth £72million move from the Bergamo club in 2023.

The 22-year-old has scored three times in 28 appearances for the Red Devils in the league this season, and produced another lackluster performance in the 1-0 loss against Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend.

The Daily Mail reports that Manchester United are looking for a partial swap deal that could see Hojlund return to his former club with Ademola Lookman heading to Old Trafford, which could represent a major coup for Ruben Amorim.

Nigerian forward Lookman, is not new in the Premier League. The dribbling wing wizard had Premier League spells with Leicester City, Fulham and Everton, and has established himself as one of the best attacking midfielders in the world of football.

Lookman inspired Atalanta to Europa League last season, scoring a hat-trick in the final. His heroics saw him crowned African Footballer of the Year in December. This season, Lookman has managed 13 Serie A goals and a further five in the Champions League.

However, he has had public disagreements with his manager Gian Piero Gasperini and looks set to depart the club at the end of the current campaign.

Despite his shortcomings this season, Hojlund has retained his place as United's first-choice striker for the majority of the campaign under Ruben Amorim ahead of Joshua Zirkzee and teenage wonderkid Chido Obi-Martin.

Both Zirkzee and Obi-Martin have failed to convince Amorim that they deserve a starting role.

Wolves star Matheus Cunha has emerged as a likely summer recruit and it is reported that Man United are edging closer to an agreement with the Brazilian.

United will still need to activate the Brazilian's £62.5million release clause but are hopeful of having terms in place by next month while they still have headroom under Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Amorim has made no secret of his admiration for Cunha, praising his versatility and goals output.
