Nyayo and Kasarani Ready for CHAN 2024 as Kenya Confirms Major Security Update
Fans planning to attend the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 matches in Kenya have been assured of their safety, as the government confirms that all necessary security protocols have been put in place ahead of the tournament.
The tournament, which will also be co-hosted by Uganda and Tanzania, will kick off on August 2nd and end on 30th of the same month.
Now, the government, through the ministry of sports has assured Kenyans that tight security measures to guarantee the safety of attendees have already been approved.

Government Issues Safety Assurance
The announcement comes after a Cabinet briefing on the country’s preparedness to host CHAN 2024.
It was confirmed that both Kasarani and Nyayo Stadia in Nairobi have been certified by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and are fully equipped to handle the demands of an international tournament.
According to a Cabinet Meeting circular seen by Pulse Sports, the venues are now outfitted with, CCTV surveillance systems, Venue Operating Centres (VOCs), Strict access control mechanisms as well as CAF-trained police officers and National Youth Service (NYS) stewards
These measures, officials say, reflect Kenya’s commitment to providing a safe and world-class footballing experience for both local and international fans.
In a show of support, President William Ruto recently visited the Harambee Stars during a training session at Kasarani, offering encouragement as the team prepares for a challenging tournament.
Kenya’s national team is currently in full residential camp, working under a newly assembled technical bench. The Harambee Stars have been drawn into Group A, which includes continental powerhouses Angola, DR Congo, Morocco, and Zambia.
Where Will The Rest of The Group Stage Matches Be Held?
Tanzania hosts Group B comprising of Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic who will have matches hosted at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania will host the grand opening ceremony and opening on August 2nd as they face Burkina Faso.
Group C matches involving Uganda, Niger, Guinea, Algeria, South Africa will be hosted at Nelson Mandela Stadium, Namboole in Kampala, Uganda which is also designated to host the third place play-offs.
Group D that includes defending champion Senegal, Congo Brazzaville, Sudan and Nigeria, which is the only group with four teams, but packed with alot of quality will be hosted at the newly refurbished Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar.
