FKF Cup champions Nairobi United have been placed in Pot Four ahead of the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup group stage draw, which will be conducted on Monday, November 3, 2025, in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The draw will take place at the studios of SuperSport, CAF’s official broadcast partner, and will be broadcast live across the continent.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) confirmed that the draw for the CAF Confederation Cup will begin at 2pm (East Africa time) followed by the CAF Champions League draw at 3pm.

The occasion marks a major milestone in African club football, as 16 elite teams await their group stage assignments.

Nairobi United, who secured their historic qualification by clinching the FKF Cup earlier this year, find themselves in Pot 4 alongside Azam FC (Tanzania), ZESCO United (Zambia), San Pedro (Ivory Coast), and Singida Black Stars (Tanzania).

Pot 1 boasts giants Zamalek SC (Egypt), Wydad AC (Morocco), CR Belouizdad (Algeria), and USM Alger (Algeria) — all former African champions or finalists. Pot 2 includes Al Masry (Egypt), Stellenbosch FC (South Africa), Djoliba (Mali), and AS Maniema (DR Congo), while Pot 3 features Kaizer Chiefs (South Africa) and Otoho d’Oyo (Congo).

The full lineup of 16 teams confirmed for the group stage includes Nairobi United, Azam FC, Zamalek SC, CR Belouizdad, Wydad AC, ZESCO United, AS Maniema, USM Alger, San Pedro, Singida Black Stars, Olympique de Safi, Kaizer Chiefs, Stellenbosch FC, Otoho d’Oyo, Djoliba, and Al Masry.

The draw will divide these teams into four groups of four, setting the stage for a thrilling continental contest when the group phase kicks off later in November 2025. 

Each club will play six matches — home and away — with the top two from each group advancing to the quarterfinals.

Nairobi United knocked Tunisia’s Etoile du Sahel out of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup, winning 7–6 on penalties after a 2–2 aggregate draw to reach the group stage on their first attempt. 

The Kenyan side arrived in Sousse with a 2–0 cushion from the first leg, but ESS levelled the tie through Mohamed Anani’s strike on 48 minutes and a stoppage-time header from Ghofrane Naouali (90+6).

The result marked a shock exit for the North African heavyweights, leaving Tunisia without a representative in the groups after Stade Tunisien were also eliminated 3–2 on aggregate by Morocco’s Olympique de Safi.
