Gor Mahia Honour Late Raila Odinga with Memorable Performance Against Posta Rangers
Gor Mahia continued their strong start to the SportPesa League season with a commanding 3-0 victory over Posta Rangers at Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday.
Both sides started cautiously feeling each other out in the early stages and it was Posta Rangers who almost had a dream start when an early cross found Teddy Trevor but Brynne Omondi was alert to smother the effort at point-blank range.
Gor Mahia gradually grew into the game with Sherif Musa and Austine Odhiambo testing Odhiambo with long-range efforts, only for the Posta keeper to remain resolute.

The second half brought the breakthrough. In the 58th minute, a second half substitute Ben Stanely Omondi made an instant impact rising highest to meet Shariff Musa’s perfect cross and heading home with his first touch.
Posta Rangers responded immediately, launching an ambitious counter-attack through Eliud Lokuwam and Kevin Juma, forcing Omondi into a diving save but the champions’ defence absorbed the pressure.
Gor Mahia’s confidence soared and in the 71st minute, Austine Odhiambo doubled the lead with a composed finish following a slick team move that split the Rangers’ defence.
Posta Rangers pushed forward in search of a reply, creating a few promising moments. Brian Marita’s header from a corner narrowly went wide, and a long-range shot from Trevor was deflected for a corner, but Gor Mahia maintained their composure.
Deep into stoppage time Felix Origa sealed the 3-0 win in the 90+2’ minute with a calm finish after a quick passing move inside the box.
Posta Rangers tried to stage a last-minute rally, but every effort was denied by a combination of the goalpost and an alert Omondi.
