Fred Kerley's Ex-Girlfriend Alaysha Johnson Breaks Silence After Alleged Assault Incident

Fred Kerley’s ex-girlfriend Alaysha Johnson has spoken for the first time following the incident that happened in a hotel in Miami during the second leg of the Grand Slam Track.

At the event, Alaysha Johnson managed to compete in only one event, the 100m hurdles, where she finished a distant sixth.

Former world champion Fred Kerley could not compete since he was in custody for allegedly punching Alaysha Johnson in the face following a confrontation in the hotel.

The Olympic 100m bronze medallist was also suspended by Michael Johnson’s Grand Slam Track meet and did not compete at last weekend’s leg of the event in Philadelphia.

Alaysha Johnson has remained silent on the matter, with Fred Kerley looking to clear his name and even pleading not guilty during a court hearing. He plans to sue his ex-girlfriend.

After weeks of staying silent, the Olympian decided to share a snippet of how her life has been since the incident happened.

Alaysha Johnson revealed that she has struggled to comprehend a lot of things mentally, physically and spiritually despite making everything seem okay on the outside.

She also admitted to suffering from insomnia but hopes that June will present better opportunities for her to flourish.

“In full transparency, May has been the hardest month of my life to date. Emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually at war and still having to show up every single day,” Alaysha Johnson shared in a tweet on her X handle.

“Waking up is hard; going to sleep is even harder. Anyways, onwards and upwards. ♥️ sending prayers for anyone feeling the same.”

Alaysha Johnson started her 2025 season with the 100m at the Miramar Invitational before competing in the 100m and 100m hurdles at the Texas Invitational. She then raced in the Grand Slam Track.

After that, Alaysha Johnson also competed in the 100m and 100m hurdles at the 14th Savona International Meeting, where she won her core event. She extended her winning streak to the 75. Boris Hanžeković Memorial.

Alaysha Johnson and former Olympic 100m silver medallist Fred Kerley, an accomplished sprinter in his own right, dated for approximately six months in 2024.
