The musician has lauded Yavi for placing the Kamba community on the world map and for her hard work.

Courtesy of her 2023 dominant exploits, Winfred Mutile Yavi has found favour in the eyes of many including musician Biez Kaviru who compiled a song for the Kenyan-born Bahraini.

The song features videos of Yavi competing at the World Championships but most of the footage was shot at the Nyayo National Stadium. Kaviru is heard praising the Kamba community and notes that Yavi has brought more honour to them.

“If not for exerted efforts ask yourself what could engage Mutile today…may be selling potatoes or sweet potatoes if not for the efforts that she made,” part of the song says.

The musician also explains that job opportunities have become scarce and that even the learned are also jobless and further explains that Yavi’s success has come due to her hard work.

“Winfred Mutile is a star…she is a star. She is trending in Bahrain…she is a star. She is our own from Kamba land…she is a star.

Even if she competes with Eliud Kipchoge she will definitely win…she is a star. May God bless you Mutile star,” the song continues.

The musician also asked God to ensure that Yavi’s star keeps shining so she can keep winning many races going forward.

He also extended a hand of gratitude to Yavi’s parents for their unwavering support that has seen the 23-year-old thrive in the sport. Kaviru also thanked the coach, pacemakers and Yavi’s extended family.

Meanwhile, Yavi won the 3000m Steeplechase world title, the Diamond League Meeting final and also bagged double gold (1500m and 3000m SC) at the Asian Games.
