South African football star Teko Modise is facing the prospect of a second multi-million divorce in three years as his estranged wife demands a hefty settlement.

Retired South African football star and current sports broadcaster Teko Modise is reportedly facing his second divorce, just three years after marrying his wife, Koketso.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, known for his stylish play and presence, is currently in settlement talks, with financial demands at the forefront of the discussions.

According to a report by South African journalist Rapulane Tabane, shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, July 13th, Koketso is seeking R1.2 million (Ksh8.7 million) as part of the divorce settlement.

This amount allegedly covers an overdraft and other financial matters she believes should be resolved before finalising the separation.

While both parties are reportedly aiming for an amicable split, the financial aspects appear to be a significant obstacle.

Modise’s Second Marriage Lasted 3 Years

Teko and Koketso married in 2021, but their relationship has ended after three years. This is Modise's second divorce.

He was previously married to Felicia Mokoena from 2010 to 2013, with whom he shares a daughter. He also has a son with Koketso.

Modise is one of the most successful South African players as he honed his skills at SuperSport United before a four-year spell at Orlando Pirates from 2007-2011 after which he joined Mamelodi Sundowns.

At Sundowns, Modise played for six years from 2011-2017, winning two league titles as well as the 2016 CAF Champions League crown, the club’s only continental title.

As per various South African outlets, Modise, who now works as a football commentator and analyst on SuperSport TV, has a net worth of R14 million (Ksh101 million).
