A key Arsenal player has chosen to sample the best from East Africa on a week-long holiday to enjoy his honeymoon as he gears up for his wedding.

Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya has left fans in awe after he chose to enjoy his honeymoon in East Africa following a grueling 2024-25 season with the Gunners.

Raya and his partner Tatiana Trouboul have been sampling the best that Tanzania has to offer and also made a dash to Zanzibar as they enjoyed their holidays.

The couple has explored the Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti, highlighting Tanzania's growing popularity as a premier travel destination.

Raya, fresh off a successful season with the Gunners, shared the 2024-25 Premier League Golden Glove award with Nottingham Forest's Matz Sels after each kept 13 clean sheets.

He also earned a place in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year and won Best Goalkeeper at the 2025 London Football Awards, beating out competitors like Crystal Palace's Dean Henderson and Chelsea Women's Hannah Hampton.

Interestingly for Raya and Tatiana, they chose to enjoy their honeymoon before their wedding which is scheduled for July 5, which will be 10 days before Arsenal return for pre-season training.

The couple, who got engaged in the Maldives in 2024, have been sharing glimpses of their Tanzanian adventure online, including a charming video of them attempting Swahili phrases. This has endeared them to local fans, who have praised Raya for choosing Tanzania for his post-season getaway.

“There was no better destination than Africa for our honeymoon,” Tatiana posted on Instagram.

Raya is the latest Premier League star to visit the East African country following a recent trip by Tottenham Hotspur's Dominic Solanke to the Maasai Mara, further demonstrating the increasing appeal of African destinations for top footballers.

Raya was instrumental in Arsenal finishing second in the Premier League for a third successive season while also reaching the UEFA Champions League semi-final with a key highlight of his campaign being an unbelievable save from Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins last August.
