RUGBY Kabras spend big as Kenya Cup clubs splash Ksh530,000 in 10 mid-season transfers

Kabras Sugar were the biggest spenders forking out Ksh300,000 on their new signings as the Kenya Rugby Union mid-season transfer window closes.

The Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) mid-season transfer window has just ended with Kabras Sugar spending Ksh300,000 on their new signings.

Edward Mwaura of Menengai Oilers has joined Kabras Sugar on a fee of Ksh150,000 while Brian Mutua of Mean Machine and Gabriel Adero of Strathmore Leos have also joined the Sugar Millers with a transfer fee of Ksh100,000 and Ksh 50,000 respectively.

Dominic Osino and Hillary Baraza join Nondescripts from Kenya Harlequin for Ksh50,000 each while Samuel Mwaura is one of three players joining Menengai Oilers from Nakuru RFC for Ksh50,000.

Nelson Makokha and Eric Ogutu join the Oilers from Masinde Muliro and Catholic Monks respectively.

Kenya Harlequin have acquired three players from Strathmore Leos with Wiseman Aganya joining for a fee of Ksh50,000. Frank Gerald Aduda joined on loan while Bradley Kwama joined for free.

Meanwhile, Western Bulls have been the most active during this window, acquiring seven players including Robert Murunga, Allan Otieno, Brevia Mbukenya, Mike Omondi, Dancun Shighali, John Baraka, and Samuel Wafula who join on loan from Kabras Sugar.

Another team signing players on loan from Kabras Sugar is Kisumu RFC who have added David Williams and Warren Kamadi to their team.

Mombasa RFC have five players joining their ranks, namely Charles Obiero Wesonga, Hillary Meshack, Kevin Chege, and Malebo Kim Kuloba from TUM Marines while Billy Baya joins from Kilifi Rugby. 

Impala have signed four players including John Carlos Mane, Owen Young Raymond Otiende, David Ngumbau Musyoka, and Leon Ondusa Undia.

Former champions Mwamba RFC have signed in Idris Kakai and Biko Masiva who will be joining from Kenya Harlequin for Ksh10,000 each with Stephen Sakari Sikuta returning to the black shirts on loan from Kenya Prisons.

KCB have dispatched Horus Alela on loan to Kenyatta University Blak Blad as Ken Omaset joins Mean Machine on loan from the South Coast Pirates.

TUM Marines has three players including Elias Gitonga, Damian Mateo and Leo Odero joining them from South Coast Pirates, Kilifi and Mombasa respectively.
