CRICKET Cricket Kenya U19 inch closer to World Cup qualification after dominant win over Nigeria

After 26.1 overs, the West African side had scored 84 runs, a target that seemed too easy for the Kenyan youngsters to beat.

The Cricket Kenya Under-19 men’s team has yet again proven to be unbeatable with a commanding win over Nigeria at the ongoing International Cricket Council U19 Men's Cricket World Cup Africa qualifier happening in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Team Kenya won the toss and elected to field first. After 26.1 overs, the West African side had scored 84 runs, a target that seemed too easy for the Kenyan youngsters to beat.

The East African youngsters stepped into the pitch with zeal ready to extend their winning streak. They, fortunately, managed to score 88 runs after 37.3 runs. Team Nigeria managed to score no wickets since team Kenya were smart in their batting prowess.

The Kenyan youngsters managed to accumulate four wickets since they had lightening quick spinners who knew how to bowl effectively. They eventually managed a win by six wickets.

Meanwhile, Team Kenya opened their campaign against the hosts Tanzania but the match was abandoned due to heavy downpour. Their second match was against Sierra Leone where the youngsters managed to carry the day, winning by four wickets.

In their third match against Namibia, Team Kenya stumbled and lost as they were unable to score enough runs. In their next match against Uganda, Kenya managed to win by 23 runs.
