The event aims at getting attendees to view the latest technologies that will define the future of the automobile industry in Kenya.

Following a four-year hiatus, the Kenya Motor Industry Association in conjunction with NBCA Bank has announced that the NCBA-KMI show will return this September at the Sarit Centre Expo Hall in Nairobi, Kenya.

More than 20 automotive and ancillary brands have confirmed their participation at the event and will be using it as a platform to display their latest models and technology.

NCBA will be the title sponsor of the event, having signed an agreement with the automobile association worth up to Ksh8 million.

Speaking during the event, the Group Managing Director, of NCBA Group, John Gachora said that the partnership is a demonstration of the joint commitment by the bank and KMI to supporting the growth and development of the automotive Industry in Kenya.

He added that the partnership aims at leveraging the respective expertise, resources, and networks to drive positive change and foster a thriving automotive sector.

"As leaders in asset financing in Kenya and East Africa, we share in the goal of creating sustainable transport in Kenya, by providing access to affordable financing options.

“Financing has been a key driver for businesses to take up assets that will help them scale up their production. At NCBA our commitment as a trusted financial partner is to enable the growth of business by offering tailor-made solutions to meet the unique needs of our customers.

“This marks an exciting milestone for us. We are pleased to announce that we will be the official title sponsors of the event. It promises to be a bigger better experience," said Gachora.

The target this year is to grow up to 15 – 20 percent of the number of visitors and excite the end user with creative and engaging campaigns that target all viable age groups and profiles.

KMI chairman, Naresh Leekha says that the event will aim at getting attendees to view technology that will define the future of the automobile industry in Kenya.

“Every single brand will be represented here, from BMW, to Mitsubishi, Mercedes, and Toyota. Every single brand. It will be exciting to see every model being displayed in one particular place. It will be an opportunity for different attendees to see the different models on display.

“There is a new government policy about moving to a greener future with an emphasis on using newer engines with lesser emissions (that pollute the environment). This will be a chance for attendees to view the latest technologies.

“This year is quite unique in that everybody will display more environmentally friendly vehicles which are going to be the future of the automobile industry on Kenyan roads," noted Leekha.

The motor show this year will be another edition that expands the potential and greatness of organizing the event to promote the economy and develop the automotive business in Kenya.

The show helps create job opportunities in construction, design, and other related fields. The aim is to ensure a positive effect on all entrepreneurs in the automotive industry and other related businesses.

This year’s theme is “The Connection” where exhibitors can showcase the variety of experiences through the endless development of automotive technology, especially the introduction of the new way of traveling in the new era to everyone.

The event will take place at Sarit Centre from Friday, 15 to Sunday 17 September.
