Two and a half years after being released by Hyundai, Solberg won his first outing in the Toyota Yaris Rally1 and expressed his hope for more drives in the top tier of the WRC.
"It hasn't quite sunk in yet," said Solberg, son of 2003 World Rally Champion Petter Solberg.
"I'm emotionally drained, I even cried at the finish line. It's the most important day of my life."
"I tried to enjoy Rally Estonia, taking it stage by stage, without any big plans," the Swede added. "Looking at the drivers chasing us, the biggest stars in the WRC, some of the fastest in the world, we just tried to focus on our own driving, and it worked well. But we kept pushing and attacking throughout."

Oliver Solberg Claims his First Ever WRC Win in Estonia
Motorsports: Like father, like son: Oliver Solberg claims emotional first WRC win in Estonia, echoing Petter Solberg’s legacy 20 years later.
Solberg and his co-driver Elliott Edmondson completed a two-day test before Rally Estonia, going on to win nine of the 20 stages.
"I've always believed in myself and my speed," Solberg continued. "And when you're working with a fantastic team like Toyota, plus a great car, everything comes together. What's next? I don't know. It's not my decision. But I'm 100% hoping for more outings in a Rally1 car. I didn't expect to jump in and win my first rally. It's a miracle."
Solberg had just two days of testing ahead of the event but gelled quickly with the GR Yaris Rally1.
He won a nine of the 20 special stages, holding off world champions Ott Tänak, Thierry Neuville and Kalle Rovanperä to secure a result few had predicted.
