Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen only recently renewed his contract with Napoli but the deal does not hinder him from switching Naples for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

1. Osimhen will join Chelsea in the summer

Osimhen’s imminent Chelsea move is via a a pre-contract which he’s willing to sign this January.

The pre-agreement contract will ensure that the Napoli striker will make a permanent move to the Premier League side in the summer.

The 25-year-old is currently in Abu Dhabi with the Super Eagles squad preparing for the African Cup of Nations, and will be hoping to light up the tournament after recently winning the African Footballer of the Year Award.

2. Mikel Obi and Drogba the super agents

The Stamford Bridge outfit have former players and African legends Mikel Obi and Didier Drogba to thank for convincing Osimhen to move to Chelsea.

Nigerian international Mikel Obi has seized every opportunity he has to lobby his compatriot Osimhen to move to Chelsea.

Ivorian maestro Didier Drogba who is well-remembered for leading the line in spectacular fashion (scoring 164 goals in 381 game) during his stay in Chelsea, also played his part in ensuring that Osimhen is convinced to make the switch.

3. Chelsea will pay £112m for Osimhen

According to a report by Team Talk, Osimhen’s new contract with Napoli includes a release clause in the region of £112m, which Chelsea are ready to meet.

Todd Boehly has already spent over £1 billion since taking over the reigns at Chelsea but the Blues have not been able to move past the 10th position on the log.

Fans of the English Premier League club are also dissatisfied with Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja for missing many good chances.

Many expect Osimhen’s arrival at Stamford Bridge to be a permanent fix to Chelsea’s goalscoring problems.
