Pulse Sports can report that LALIGA giants, Real Madrid, one of the biggest and most iconic clubs in the world, have chosen Xabi Alonso as the successor to Carlo Ancelotti.

Ancelotti, who returned to Real Madrid for a second stint as head coach, has enjoyed a relatively successful tenure so far but Los Blancos have reportedly decided to go in a new direction with the appointment of Alonso according to Radio Marca.

This decision is expected to cause ripples of excitement and curiosity throughout the club’s fan base.

“ "The first favourite to replace Ancelotti is Xabi Alonso,” Radio Marca stated on their website. “I have no doubt that he will be the coach of the white team. It's not a feeling, it's opinion. Today, Madrid have chosen Xabi Alonso to coach the team next year."

For Nigeria’s Boniface, this shake-up could bring both challenges and opportunities. Alonso was the man who engineered his move to the Arena and the 22-year-old has looked at home and settled since he joined the club.

With the former Union Saint-Gilloise man making strides in his career under the guidance of Alonso, his departure could impact what looks like a burgeoning career destined for greatness at Leverkusen.
