Shabana FC has refuted player release rumors amidst struggles, emphasizing professionalism and adherence to rules while clarifying their stance.

Football Kenya Federation Premier League side Shabana FC has denied reports suggesting that they have dropped several players from their squad amidst a challenging season.

Speculation had been rife on social media, claiming that the club was parting ways with multiple players due to a series of disappointing results.

However, in a recent statement, Shabana FC's secretary general, Elizaphan Kerama, clarified the situation, asserting that while some players are not in the immediate plans of the coaching staff, no official releases have occurred.

The rumors of player departures centered around Shabana FC's efforts to revamp their struggling squad.

Among the players mentioned in these reports was Silas Shihemi, who demanded notice pay, unfair dismissal compensation, and advocates' fees. Shihemi, who was reportedly dropped from the team, has formally requested payment of Ksh 754,000 in outstanding dues.

However, Shabana FC's secretary general, Kerama, sought to put an end to the uncertainty surrounding the club's roster changes.

"We have indeed received a list of players who are not in the immediate plans of the coaching staff. Following a thorough assessment, it has been decided to loan only two players short term. It is important to note that no player has been officially released from the team," he stated.

Kerama further emphasized, "Our commitment lies in handling such matters with the utmost professionalism and adherence to the rules of the game. Should any player be released, it will be done in accordance with established procedures, ensuring fairness and without any form of victimization."

In light of the uncertainty and speculation circulating on social media, Shabana FC urged the public to exercise caution and refrain from spreading unverified information that could tarnish the club's image.

Kerama appealed to the community of supporters to maintain a positive and supportive atmosphere as the club navigates the challenges of team management.

Apart from Silas Shihemi, other players reported to have been dropped from the squad include Eric Ongiri, Denis Kalama Wafula, Johanna Mwita, Victor Kamungo, and Samuel Atiti.

Tore Bobe, who are making a return to the top-flight league after a 17-year hiatus, has encountered considerable difficulties this season.

Currently occupying the 17th position in the league table, Shabana has garnered 17 points from 19 matches and finds themselves in the relegation zone.
