Benzema is eyeing a move to the MLS from Saudi Arabia

The Former Real Madrid icon, Karim Benzema  is reportedly considering a move to Major League Soccer (MLS).

Benzema who joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad in 2023 has taken concrete steps towards a potential switch to the United States.

Benzema's departure from Real Madrid marked the end of a legendary 14-year tenure at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Arriving from Olympique Lyon in 2009, he went on to become a pivotal figure for Los Blancos, amassing an impressive 648 appearances, netting 354 goals, and providing 151 assists.

His goal tally places him second only to Cristiano Ronaldo in Real Madrid's all-time scoring charts.

During his illustrious career in the Spanish capital, Benzema collected a remarkable 25 trophies, including five UEFA Champions League titles and four La Liga crowns.

His contributions cemented his status as one of the greatest players to ever don the famous white jersey, culminating in his Ballon d'Or triumph in 2022.

Despite initially facing competition from the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Cristiano Ronaldo upon his arrival, Benzema ultimately became the undisputed focal point of Real Madrid's attack.

Since joining Al-Ittihad, the 37-year-old Frenchman has continued to demonstrate his enduring quality.

In 59 appearances for the Jeddah-based club, he has scored a commendable 34 goals and registered 17 assists. Furthermore, Al-Ittihad are currently in a strong position to contend for the Saudi Pro League title this season.

However, the allure of a new challenge in the burgeoning MLS appears to be strong for the veteran striker.

At 37, Benzema continues to perform at a high level, evidenced by his 21 goals and nine assists in 30 appearances across all competitions for Al-Ittihad this season.
