Trent Alexander-Arnold has seen an increase in his Instagram amid a blockbuster move to Real Madrid.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has officially confirmed that he will leave Liverpool when his contract expires on 30 June 2025, bringing to an end a two-decade love affair with the club he joined at just six years old.

The 26-year-old England international, who grew into one of the world’s most creative defenders, is on the brink of a new challenge, reportedly signing a six-year deal with Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Since his senior debut in 2016, Trent has made 352 appearances, scored 23 goals, and helped Liverpool secure eight major honours — including the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and most recently, the 2024/25 Premier League title.

In a moving message to fans, Alexander-Arnold laid bare the emotional toll behind his decision to leave:

“I think first and foremost, I want to say it’s not an easy decision, and there’s a lot of thought and feeling that has gone into it.”

He continued:

“I’ve been here 20 years now, loved every single minute of it, achieved all my dreams, achieved everything I’ve ever wanted to here.”

The decision, however, stems from a personal need for growth and change:

“Giving everything day in, day out for 20 years, I’ve got to a point now where I feel like I need a change, a new challenge for me as a player and as a person.”

Initially viewed as a promising academy graduate, the right-back quickly established himself as a first-team regular, rising to prominence under former coach Jürgen Klopp.

Over the course of nearly a decade, Trent has racked up an impressive 352 appearances across all competitions — a remarkable figure for a player still only 26 years old.

His consistency and durability became vital to Liverpool’s success during one of the club’s most dominant modern eras.
