A review of Sunday's round of NSL matches.

Darajani Gogo were unable to get all three points for the third game in a row after falling victim to Sibiwet Lions, losing 2-0 in Bomet.

Muranga Seal were able to keep tabs on league leaders, Shabana FC following a 3-2 win over Kisumu All Stars at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu.

Both Gogo and hosts, Lions , struggled to play in a way that would have created a semblance of rhythm given the waterlogged state of the pitch, but Sibiwet clearly showed their mastery of the pitch’s state ,scoring two goals in either half.

Alvin Akwachi put the hosts ahead in the 41st minute, before John Eli put them two goals to the good in the second half to seal the win for Silibwet.

In Kisumu, Murang’a Seal were able to get the winning goal in an otherwise end-to-end affair against hosts Kisumu All Stars. John Kiplang’at would put the visitors ahead in the 41st minute, setting the tone for the second half.

Stars would respond right after the break through Noah Giendo, but their parity only lasted 9 minutes, as Fabian Adiginyi restored Seal’s advantage.

Allstars would equalize yet again in the 71st minute through Steven Brian. It looked as if the game would end in a stalemate, but Wilson Kamau made himself the hero of the day, grabbing a late 90th minute winner to give them the three points, and close the gap to Shabana to just 4 points with a game in hand.

In other matches, Naivas FC thumped Coastal Union 4-0, with a particularly dominating first half encounter. Goals from Boniface Maundu, Ken Mutembei and Kelwish John formed the cake that was iced by Lucky Randu’s fourth to make it game, set and match. The result gave Nivas 29 points, closing the gap on 3rd placed, Gusii FC to just 5 points with a game in hand.

Kibera Black Stars refused to play on after Christian Kitamba was sent off in the 52nd minute for dissent, Mara Sugar had  the lead in the 49th minute.
