Tusker striker Ryan Ogam still has eyes on the FKF Premier League Golden Boot award despite missing four months of action following an injury.

Tusker FC striker Ryan Ogam has still not lost hope of winning the FKF premier League Golden Boot award despite missing four months of action.

Ogam had to undergo surgery following a knee injury and was forced to watch from the sidelines as his team faltered in the FKF Premier League title race and now comes back with only the individual award within his sights.

The striker had been the league’s leading scorer when he got injured, having netted 15 goals as Tusker pushed to win the league, but since then, he has been overtaken by FC Talanta’s Emmanuel Osoro and Kakamega Homeboyz forward Moses Shumah.

However, Osoro (16 goals) is just one ahead while Shumah (17 goals) has netted two more, and with two games to go, Ogam feels he can still play a part and perhaps eclipse his rivals for the top scorer’s gong.

Ryan Ogam Still Keen Achieving His Individual Target

“I feel good now, I feel strong. I am well rested and I am working hard to see if I can get some minutes. This week, I have completed a full training session for the first time and I hope I can impress the coaches to give me a few minutes,” Ogam told Telecomasia.net.

“I had targets I had set at the beginning of the season and I hope I can achieve them. We have a game at home and one away and I feel if given a chance, I can do something,” he added, expressing confidence in his abilities to add onto his goal tally.

With 55 points, Tusker are all but out of the title race as the maximum they can get is 61, if they win their remaining two matches, while leaders Kenya Police, who have the same tally, need a draw to be crowned.

Even if Police lose both matches and Tusker win the two, Charles Okere’s team will need to overhaul a 15-goal deficit against the law enforcers, something that looks impossible.

Tusker will play Kariobangi Sharks and Kakamega Homeboyz in their final two matches which Ogam will be hoping to make a difference in.
