NSL Murang’a Seal leave it late to overcome MCF as Migori held by Kajiado

There were only three matches in the National Super League on Saturday afternoon.

Murang'a Seal continued their fine league run as they beat Mully Children's Family (MCF) 1-0 in a National Super League (NSL) match at St Sebastian Park in Muranga.

Having been frustrated by a stubborn MCF defense for the better part of the game, Eric Juma snatched a late winning goal for Seal in stoppage time.

Mully were under siege from the first whistle, with Seal dominating the ball and starving the hosts of possession.

Charles Okeyo was a busy man between the sticks as the Mully's goalkeeper pulled off a magnificent save - finger-tipping Brian Juma's effort over the crossbar.

At the half-hour mark, the hosts put together a superb counter-attack that saw George Amayo play Ian Mutinda in on goal, but the attacker looked nervous in the penalty area and was quickly closed down by Fabian Bathez.

The match was goalless at the halftime break. Seal's superior passing game saw them bossing the second half's early stages, but they lacked the nous and precision in the final third to threaten the hosts.

Mully had a good chance that arrived almost out of nothing midway through the second stanza when the ball fell kindly for winger Ochieng, but his shot from the left of the penalty area flashed over the crossbar.

Seal continued to probe, with Mully happy to sit back and defend in the closing proceedings, with Juma scoring from close range in the third minute of stoppage time to seal Murang'a Seal's 1-0 win over Mully.

The second match of the day saw Silibwet host Gusii FC as they looked for their second win of the season.

The visitors grabbed a surprise lead through Hadi Hamisi when he beat his marker before scoring to make it 1-0 to Gusii in the 10th minute.

Gusii controlled the match and extended their lead in the 36th-minute courtesy of Cyrus Aucho. A lively second half followed with Silibwet launching attacks to reduce the deficit.

However, Gusii defended in numbers, and they emerged as 2-0 winners.

The win took Gusii to the third spot with 31 points from 19 games, and they are now level on points with fourth-placed Mara Sugaar.

On the other hand, Silibwet dropped to 17th position with seven points from 19 matches, and their fight for survival continues.

Elsewhere, Kajiado FC made a slow start to the contest against Migori Youth but managed to get the opening goal in the 19th minute courtesy of Seth Omondi.

The visitors managed to level matters four minutes before halftime through Joseph Ochieng and that is how things ended.

Kajiado is now placed 16th on the league standings with only eight points, while Migori Youth dropped to sixth place on the table with 29 points.
