Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga is looking forward to a great outing in Europe after landing in Spain for pre-season with his new club Al Arabi.

Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga is set to begin work with his new club Al Arabi in Europe.

Olunga joined Al Arabi early this month following his departure from Al Duhail and has already linked up with his new team-mates for pre-season.

Al Arabi will have their pre-season in Spain and Olunga was among the players who travelled with the squad to Valencia where they will be based during the next couple of weeks and play friendly matches, starting with Saturday’s clash against Johor DT.

The Harambee Stars captain is hoping to hit the ground running for the Qatari side just as he did for Al Duhail during his four-and-a-half-year stay before he left as the club’s all-time top scorer with a record 130 goals.

What Can Al Arabi Expect From Michael Olunga?

Olunga scored 20 or more goals in every season but one, being his final campaign in 2024-25 when he bagged 15, and Al Arabi moved quickly to land him ahead of other suitors.

The 31-year-old striker is not new to pre-season tours in Europe as he was in Austria for a couple of years with Al Duhail when they prepared for the last two campaigns.

Al Arabi, who have won the Qatar Stars League seven times, last claimed the title in 1997 and will be hoping that Olunga, alongside the other signings, can return them to glory.

The Doha-based club struggled last season before finishing ninth in the 12-team league and there is hope for an improvement in fortunes in 2025-26.

Al Arabi will begin their league campaign on August 15 with a clash away to Al Wakrah.
