Francis Xavier's coached side recorded their 16th win of the season while their Bomet-based opponents remained stuck in the relegation zone.

Six goals in the second half were enough for Mara Sugar FC to annihilate Silibwet Leons 7-0 while Kajiado FC held Mwatate United to a 1-1 draw in Monday's National Super League (NSL) games.

The victory took the Sugar Millers to third in the league standings, while the Leons remained 17th on the log.

Mara Sugar got off to a bright start with wingers Brian Ochieng and Mohamed Baraza playing crosses into the opposition's box for Victor Ngume.

Silibwet then blew a great chance to take the lead in the 15th minute when a cross from a short corner kick pinballed in a busy penalty area before falling to Karaga, but the skipper stabbed the ball over the top from close range.

Mara Sugar claimed the lead in the 30th minute thanks to a brilliant strike by Mohamed Baraza, who had an easy finish into an empty net for 1-0.

Leons looked dangerous on the counter-attack with Kibet leading their attack, but they could not seriously test the Sugar Millers goalkeeper Eliud Emase.

Mara Sugar managed to contain Silibwet, and the visitors were leading 1-0 at the interval thanks to Baraza's striker at the half-an-hour mark.

Upon their return, Silibwet continued to exert pressure on their visitors and nearly scored in the 50th minute when Arnold Akafwale blocked Ballo's rocket on the goal line.

Mara Sugar did not have to wait long and responded in the 59th minute when Baraza was given sight of goal and sent a right-footed shot beyond the reach of goalkeeper John Nduati to put the visitors in complete control.

The Sugar Millers continued their dominance, and they made it 3-0 in the 67th minute when Philemon Nyakwaka beat the goalkeeper from close range.

It was soon 4-0 in the 78th minute courtesy of Victor Ngume, who added three more quick goals in the 81st, 84th, and 89th minute as his side secured an important victory that made them dislodge Migori Youth from the third spot.

Elsewhere, Kajiado FC were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Mwatate United in a match played at Ildamat Stadium in Kajiado.

Mwatate dedicated the early exchanges as Uganda international Yunus Kasozi missed a golden scoring chance in the 29th minute, his powerful shot going wide.

Kajiado took the lead in the 61st minute when dependable striker Mboso received a pass inside the area before firing past Mwatate goalkeeper Peter Madala.

However, Kasozi made amends for the several misses and scored an equalizer from a goalmouth scramble.
