Gor Mahia wingback Levin Odhiambo has hinted at motivations for Tusker exit in first interview days after completing the move.

Gor Mahia's latest acquisition,Levin Odhiambo, has subtly hinted at the reasons behind his decision not to renew his contract with Tusker FC.

The talented left-back, who completed a transfer to the defending FKF Premier League champions on a two-year deal, opened up about his aspirations and experiences thus far with his new team as they gear up to face Kakamega Homeboyz at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

Odhiambo, who arrived in Gor Mahia's camp last Friday, has been a subject of intense speculation following his high-profile switch from Tusker as a free agent.

"Well, I've enjoyed my time since I came here on Tuesday. It has been nice, I've been welcomed well, and since Tuesday till now, I'm enjoying my time here, and I believe there's more to enjoy as time goes by," remarked Odhiambo.

The youngster's decision to leave Tusker after the expiration of his contract has been widely discussed, with many wondering why he chose not to extend his stay at the club where he had become a key figure, particularly known for his prowess as an offensive winger.

"Okay, my inspiration is I believe football has to be fun, and at the end of the day, you have to be somewhere you can enjoy this football and learn from it," Odhiambo said, suggesting that his departure was influenced by a desire for a new challenge and environment where he could continue to grow and enjoy the game.

K'Ogalo had expressed interest in signing the former Wazito FC and Mathare United player mid-season, but were initially rebuffed as Tusker held onto him, hoping to secure him on a new contract.

"I had some friends before, and I believe as time goes by, I'm going to make new friends and work with them well, and even outside football have them as friends as well," HE NOTED.

As Gor Mahia prepares for their upcoming match against Kakamega Homeboyz, all eyes will be on Odhiambo, who is expected to make his debut.

Although he remained tight-lipped about the possibility of starting the game, he expressed enthusiasm for the support of the fans.

"The weekend is here, and I believe we have a big match on the weekend. I'll assure them to come all and support us. I believe their support is going to help us through the match, and I believe we are going to win if they show up all," he confidently concluded.

Odhiambo's departure from Tusker, especially after being a vital part of the team but then falling down the pecking order due to his mid-season ambitions to leave, has been a talking point.

His addition to Gor Mahia not only strengthens the team's offensive capabilities but also reunites him with Rooney Onyango, a former teammate from their successful days at Wazito FC.
