A former Manchester United striker has given reasons why he thinks Marcus Rashford should not be allowed to sign for Barcelona.
Manchester United legend Teddy Sheringham criticised Marcus Rashford's public desire to leave Old Trafford, stating the forward hasn't "earned" a move to Barcelona.
Barcelona is reportedly Rashford's preferred destination, and the Catalan club has been in contact with his representatives.
Rashford spent the latter half of last season on loan at Aston Villa after expressing his desire for a "new challenge" in December. He also lost his number 10 shirt to new signing Matheus Cunha and has been training separately from the main squad with other players expected to depart.

“If you assess where Marcus Rashford is at as a professional footballer, you strive as a youngster to get to the very top and play for clubs like Manchester United, and when you’re there, you appreciate it - you don’t throw it away and say you want to leave,” Sheringham said on Sky Sports as quoted by Yahoo Sports.
“From my perspective, if you go from Manchester United to Barcelona, that’s a step up he hasn’t deserved.”

Sheringham compared Rashford's situation to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's departure from Arsenal, expressing his disapproval of players publicly seeking exits. He hopes Rashford doesn't get his desired move.
“To hear someone talking the way he is talking, saying he wants out – I didn’t like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang doing that at Arsenal, I thought it was soul-destroying, and I hope Rashford doesn’t get the move that he’s hankering for,” he added.
Rashford is among five United players excluded from Amorim's pre-season preparations, along with fellow forwards Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Jadon Sancho, and defender Tyrell Malacia.
