Solskjaer blamed for missing out on Haaland

Haaland’s former agent has blamed the former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for failing to acquire the Norwegian star before moving to Germany.

He told Sky Sports, "People say that Manchester United wanted to be out [of the deal], I don't believe in it if so it's very strange in my opinion.

"I think there was good contact between Norwegian Ole Solskjaer and himself as they know each other very well, it was just a normal decision from the player that at this moment he had a better feeling to sign for Dortmund and that it would be the right move for his career.

"I don't understand all the fuss, why people are talking so much about Manchester United when there were 12 clubs interested in him and he had serious talks with every one of them."

Gary Neville’s interview with Haaland

The 22-year-old was interviewed by Manchester United legend Gary Neville and was asked why he did not sign for the Red Devils.

Recently, Gary Neville sat down for an interview on Sky Sports with the top Premier League scorer and was asked, "Ole was your manager. How are you not at Manchester United? Haaland said, "You have to ask him."

Solskjaer was once in charge of Molde where the two Norwegians had previously worked together. As a result, it appeared as though United had the upper hand and could entice Haaland to Old Trafford to work for his former boss.

However, he joined Borussia Dortmund instead of Man United after pulling out of signing the striker due to the deal as they were against the structure of the proposed contract.

After spending a few years with Dortmund, he moved to Man City in the summer of 2022 and has lit up the Premier League with his goals.
